In addition to wetland sites reported by individuals, the Map of Irish Wetlands has incorprated wetland sites listed in the following larger data sets and publications.The wetlands include those previously reported from published sources (mainly SAC, SPA, NHA, ASI etc.) and previously unknown potential wetland sites identified through the examination of aerial photography in conjunction with subsoil data and other GIS data sets. The list presented here is not exhaustive.
